Welcome to Worcester, Cathedral City, important Civil War stronghold and home of Edward Elgar. Worcester is a beautiful old city on the banks of the River Severn, with many listed buildings and twentieth century development has been carried out to improve the centre while still retaining much of it's old character. There's a wide range of shops, both well-known brands and good quality outlets, the County cricket ground, Racecourse, Premiership rugby, football and the Elgar trail so there's plenty for everyone to do.
The Slug and Lettuce is situated on The Cross, just a five minute walk from the River and the Cathedral and five hundred metres from Foregate Street train station. Formerly St Nicholas Church, the recent refurbishment has kept the stunning natural characteristics of this Grade II listed building while creating a relaxing and comfortable bar atmosphere inside. Open from 10am every day for coffee and breakfast (11am Sundays), with a fantastic seasonal menu containing light snacks, sandwiches and main meals and a large range of quality lagers, spirits, soft drinks and cocktails. It's the perfect place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner, relax after work or have a great night out. The upstairs bar is also available for private parties and functions, free of charge. So whatever the reason for your visit, we'd love to see you soon!
Regards from James and the team. |
