Company Info Slug and Lettuce was ‘born’ in 1985 – the concept was dreamt up by an entrepreneur called Hugh Corbet. He had a background in the wine trade and wanted to create a bar where wine and good food were as important as beer.
Retaining those aspects and more, today the essence of Slug and Lettuce is efficient friendly service, quality and recognisable products and an inclusive and familiar atmosphere that promotes a safe and comfortable environment for our customers.
Slug and Lettuce is owned by Bay Restaurant Group. Bay Restaurants is one of the leading operators in the casual dining market with over 200 units across three industry-leading restaurant brands. The restaurant business comprises Slug and Lettuce, Ha Ha Bar & Grill, together with La Tasca Restaurants.
