“I've walked past the S&L in Leicester many times, but hadn't actually gone in until last night. My impression of it from outside was of a typical bar, serving cocktails, over-priced wine, and poor quality lager. I was very pleasantly surprised that the prices of typical bar fare were quite reasonable (especially with 2 for 1 on cocktails), and that there was a very good selection of real ales – four on draught (including one from a small local brewery) and a number of other bottled beers including Leffe among others. I was even happier when I was only charged around £2 per pint! No wonder CAMRA gave it Leicester's Pub of the Month award for June 2010.
