Two great reasons to visit Newcastle:
Newcastle is rich in culture, architecture and history and has a great reputation for shopping and nightlife. Must see for visitors to the sparkling Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside include the Millennium Bride, The Sage and the Baltic Centre for Contempory Art.
Newcastle is also home to the Angel of the North, Newcastle Brown Ale, Newcastle United and the famous Tyne Bridge. One of 7 bridges that link Newcastle to Gateshead. The most recent being the Millennium Bridge which is a striking and innovative opening pedestrian and cycle bridge. Gateshead is currently being transformed into one of the biggest cultural and leisure quarters in the UK, enough to rival anything in Europe.
Two great reasons to visit Slug in Newcastle:
Of course, anyone with great taste will be visiting The Slug and Lettuce right on the quayside! It’s a great spot for experiencing the legendary ‘fog on the Tyne’ or, when night creeps in, watching the famous bridges light up while enjoying a bottle of our fabulous wines.
Slug staff members are always happy to help, delivering excellent table service from our extensive menu. Our spacious venue has a separate area in the bar that’s ideal for private functions. Got ‘bairns’? Then bring along the little ones to enjoy our great children's menu.
Please note that this venue will be closing for refurbishment on Monday 27th February 2012, and will reopen on Friday 9th March 2012. We look forward to seeing you then!
