“We were holding a conference last week at my place of work (Chester Zoo), and we held our conference dinner at Chester's Slug and Lettuce last Wednesday evening, July 7th 2010. The manager on duty that night, Danny, was a huge help in making sure everything ran smoothly for our large group (45 or so of us) – he was also very helpful when I'd popped into the pub a few days before to confirm the final arrangements. The ‘gold buffet’ we ordered was great, with the large ‘sharing plates’ being a really good idea for such a large group of people, and all the delegates who attended the meal had a really good night. Service was prompt and cheerful and the satff were really helpful. I'll certainly be recommending the Slug and Lettuce to my colleagues here at Chester Zoo, should they need to make a group booking in the future . “I booked a table for 8 for 12.00pm for lunch on the day of Chester Races. This is the second year in a row that we have booked and we have booked the Slug in previous years aswell. The booking process was very professional, I paid a deposit and the receipt was sent to me in the post. When we turned up for our lunch on the 10 July we were shown straight to our table. Our drinks order was taken straight away and once we had ordered our food we didn't have to wait too long. The food was lovely everyone enjoyed it. It was a lovely start to what turned out to be a lovely day out at Chester Races. We will definately book next year.
