The original village of Beckenham is situated in what is now the northern part of the town. Around it are the great estates; Beckenham Park, Kelsey and Langley Park. Despite its leafy image, Beckenham is situated in close proximity to London and has great transport links both in and out of the capital. Prior to the development of the railway, Beckenham was a small village in almost completely rural surroundings. It was only when a family of entrepreneurs began building that its population started to soar, which is how it’s come to form part of London’s suburbia.
In regards to entertainment there is an Odeon cinema which has six screens and is a beautiful grade II listed building, a number of armature productions put on at the local theatre and we even have our very own dance and music festival, which takes place every November.
